Eyeball, Revisited

Did another eye, from reference this time. Man, there's some weird color stuff going on in there. I've been spending way too much time in the oranges. No wonder my last eye looks jaundiced (aside from it being monochromatic).

...is that so often they are much cooler in one's imagination. Suffice it to say that I had the idea for this image, I was not thinking "Windows Live Messenger icon with lips."

I'm watching Jeremy Vickery's Practical Light and Color dvd from Gnomon...and it's a lot to take in all at once. I thought I'd try my hand at painting some subsurface scattering. I discovered that it's actually kinda hard. So I decided to start from the beginning. It helped, but I've still got a ways to go...
